Service outage

Today we learned that service outages can sometimes occur at the most inconvenient times.

A fire and flood at a British Telecom exchange in London (see BBC news story) had a knock-on effect on other communications networks, including the circuit serving our London Docklands hosting centre. As a result, tcn.uk.com was down for about three hours – just when we were meeting with a prospective corporate partner. As a result, we were unable to demonstrate the site’s functionality and – as a stop-gap – had to rely on some of our YouTube videos and our powers of vivid description!

Apologies if you tried to visit the site or to login earlier today. Normal service resumed at about 2pm BST this afternoon, and you should now be able to access the site again.

(Another learning point: we will use this blog and our tCntweets Twitter account to post service updates should there be any repetition of such outages.)
